Charitable Support
How You Can Help
As a not-for-profit organization, Senior Independence is grateful for the charitable support that helps it fulfill its mission of care and service to thousands of older adults every day. Your charitable gifts make a lasting impact for the individuals and families receiving these valuable services. The following are just some of the ways you can help:
Memorial donations
Making a memorial donation is a time-honored way to express concern for a bereaved family or to recognize and remember someone close to you. If you wish to include memorial donation information in an obituary, please use the following language:
Memorial contributions may be made to Senior Independence Hospice, c/o OPRS Foundation, 1001 Kingsmill Parkway, Columbus Ohio 43229.

Will bequests
A charitable will bequest provides a means to continue your legacy well into the future. As you consider a bequest, it is wise to consult with an OPRS Foundation representative and your attorney who to make certain that your specific interests and intentions are fulfilled.
If you choose to support Senior Independence through your will or trust, the following language may be used when making a bequest:
"I give and bequeath to the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services Foundation for the benefit of Senior Independence [written amount, percentage of estate or description of property] to be used for [state the program or purpose for which your bequest is to be used, for example Hospice, or indicate 'unrestricted purposes']."

Hospice
Hospice staff and volunteers provide the most compassionate, loving care that one human being can give to another. Each act, each word, each moment, is a loving touch for people during their most difficult times. But Senior Independence does not do it alone; people like you help make it possible. Please extend a hand of compassion to the next family benefiting from hospice services; make a charitable gift to continue the care.
Make it Happen
This program creates lasting memories for families by bringing special moments of joy and meaning to those nearing the end of their lives by fulfilling their life-enhancing wishes. Each moment is unique and personal: It can be larger than life, like a hot air balloon ride, or a simple wish for family at a distance to come together one last time. The Make It Happen program gives us an opportunity to do more by finding the little things that make such a big difference in a person's life.
Saying thanks
Senior Independence employees and volunteers lovingly give the most personal care one human being can give to another. The Saying Thanks program allows you to give back, while paying forward. By making a donation to Senior Independence in honor of an employee or volunteer, you help all those served while recognizing those who served you.
Friends & family fundraising events
Friends & family fundraising events bring together those who care about your loved one, while supporting Senior Independence Hospice in their memory. By hosting your own fundraising event to benefit Senior Independence Hospice, you can help more individuals to receive the best care that humankind can offer. Dinners, block parties, race teams and golf outings are just a few of the unlimited ways that families and friends can come together for a time of joyful healing and remembrance, while raising money to extend a hand of compassion to other families needing hospice care. Guidelines and support are available from the OPRS Foundation. If you are interested in creating an event, please contact Kathie Gannon at 513-582-1844 or kgannon@corp.oprs.org for more information.
